How to clean hard water stains?

Hard water is a water that is made up of high amounts of deposits like lime, calcium and silica. During the house cleaning process when water dries the mineral deposits that are left behind leave hard water stains on the glass or ceramic surfaces that are usually in the bathroom or your kitchens. If you have been experiencing brown or white scum marks in your living space then you need to use vinegar or something strong in order to clean it up.

Here are a few tips by House Cleaning Round Rock which you can follow to clean or brighten your kitchen/bathroom surfaces in no time.

1. Make a vinegar solution:

During the house cleaning process you can use a cheap solution that is vinegar which is the best tool that can be used to combat those hard water stains that are going to keep your surfaces from gleaming. All you need to do is prepare a 50/50 mixture of water and white vinegar solution in a spray bottle when house cleaning.

- If you are using a spray bottle that you have been previously using to keep the chemical solutions or other ingredients then you need to make sure that you first wash it out and then add vinegar solution and add water in it.

- During the house cleaning processes you need to be sure that you use regular white vinegar. Apple cider is not going to work for you.

2. Spray the vinegar on the scummy surface:

During the house cleaning process, whether you are trying to clean your glass shower door, the sink of your kitchen or your floor tiles then you should go ahead and spray those on the spots with vinegar. Vinegar has got a pungent smell but it is safe to use on the surfaces other than wood. You must spray the area thoroughly and don’t miss the spots.

3. Wipe the surface with towel:

During the house cleaning process the light hard water stains are going to come off easily but if you want to use vinegar then you should put it in a bowl and soak a rag in the solution and then wipe to clean the surface.

4. Rinse with Squeegee the area clean:

During the house cleaning process you need to buff dry the area with a clean cloth and make sure that it’s completely dry and the water will not leave any more spots.

5. Clean the faucets:

You need to remove the faucet aerators and the shower heads periodically and then soak it in the vinegar solution. You can use a brush to help you loosen the gunk and stubborn deposits.
